Starbuukians
So I did a stint at Starbucks, as most people tend to have their one job in the food business realm. It was probably a little simpler then, as it was prior to the Starbucks breakfast sandwich moving out of its test market of Seattle and into the mass market; and my store was a brand new store so we had the automated expresso shot machine. I am glad I didn't have to use the older espresso machines as I already have issues with carpel tunnel, but it would have been a nice experience to at least have learned to tamp the perfect shot.
To this day I remember quite a number of my morning regular's drinks. As I was posting on Casey's blog, more and more came flooding back to me. The short woman who worked at the Marriot who had a twin that would get her coffee from Diedrich, while she got hers from us at 5:45 am. As I saw her car pull up in the morning I would start her tall nonfat extra foam cappacino for her, so when she would come in it would be ready for her. Or the crazy tall woman who had to have her venti iced caramel macchiato with 9 pumps of sf vanilla syrup, 6 splendas, 2 raw sugars, 1/2 shot of decaf espresso, loads of ice. The customer I recanted to Casey had a decaf quad venti no foam non fat (140F) with a splash of cold soy 6 pumps cinnamon, 2 pump vanilla, caramel latte. I mentioned this to her as she felt obligated to get her tall, 1 pump caramel, zebra mocha with caffeine this morning as if she was doing something wrong by ordering something decaf in a coffee shop. By all means get it how you want, that is their underlying motto. I mean you can order a gift card with your drink order permantly on the card, talk about customizing.

I Finally Got my BM!!!
In other news, I am going to be making a decision on which dress I will be wearing for my own wedding by the end of the month, whether I actually order it is another story. Trying to lose weight and buying an expensive dress that should only be taken in about 2 dress sizes is not very cohesive. Because these dresses if you don't have a corset tieback, which mine doesn't, does not retain its proper and pretty shape if you take it in too much. Although when I lost 25 lbs a number of months ago, I didn't drop a size at all, so we'll see. I just don't want to order a size smaller and hope that I will make it into it, because as much as I have strong willpower, I have issues dealing with eating, esp when I am the only one in the house trying to watch what I eat.
Moving right along, have my centerpieces, well part of them anyways. And I am taking it to one of the two florists I am meeting with to see what they can do and how they can incorporate it into everything nice and smoothly. More updates on that and everything later, now back to the regularly scheduled program... work.

Happy New Year!
at 8pm the winner was Knotts, and it came down to price...$39 vs $60 a person. So we haul tail up to Buena Park so we can eat dinner at TGI Fridays, since they are closing early... odd considering the park is open and it is practically on park grounds. Got the worst service in the history of restaurants, can we say burnt to a crisp...
Anyhoo, unlike Disneyland who reaches capacity at like 2pm on NYE, we strolled into Knotts at 950pm. Managed to get in a number of rides, the longest wait was for Silver Bullet and that was probably only 15 mins. Oh by the way it happened to be Praise 08, so that made things a bit interesting. We just steered clear of the concert stages, rode the rides. I do have to say that Xcelerator was great with the fireworks going off just in the distance. A great start to a new year, and sleeping until 11 the next morning didnt hurt either.
Hope everyone had a good start to their new year as well!

Wiiiiiiii!!!!!!!
Mom mailed us our Christmas presents, and said the things were loose in the box. So we thought it was just the normal random things we might get, because we didn't hand over a list.
And to our surprise last night in the box was a Wii, additional controller & nunchuk, and a game. We are so stoked. We were going to get ourselves just controllers since all our friends have them and we knew we might not play it all that much at our house. But now friends can come over to our house too!

Phew!
We bought our bridesmaid dresses today, and I am excited. I love the cut and the color is a great color, definately a dress I will be able to reuse. Now just have to wait for the call of when it gets delivered.

O Happy Day...
Casey is getting married in March, Ian and I are both part of the bridal party. Currently am planning Casey's early bridal shower, and hopefully she enjoys it.
My mom is in town so we are going to as m any bridal shows as possible while she is here but there are only small ones that we can go to. At least I get to spend some time with her and have her get her feet a little wet with the wedding planning. With her living out of state it is really hard to have her be involved as much as I would like her to be.
Wedding colors are eggplant/sage/burnt orange(coppery), which is my main color has yet too be decided. We are getting married at an outdoor venue so green might be out since there is lots of greenery.
Ian has his boys lined up, I am still pondering the rest of my side. Casey is my maid of honor, and my co-worker Kelly is one of my bridesmaids, the other opening I am having issues with. We don't hangout with a lot of people, and it's a hard decision to make.
Ok, that is enough for now.
Off to get a haircut...

Engaged!!!
We had dinner at Ruby's on the end of the pier, and he was acting a little weird throughout dinner. He went to go to the bathroom while we were waiting for the check, but he took his jacket with him. I knew something was amiss. We we nt for a stroll along the beach after dinner, and he kept wanting to walk under the pier. Hmmm... it is starting to sound familiar... first date ask me out while walking under the pier.
Although leave it to me to ruin his surprise, I had hugged him and afterwards put my hands upon his chest. Well there happened to be a lump, i guess not really a lump but a box. And so he got a little huffy cause I blew his cover, but unfortunately it was already blown when he took his jacket to the bathroom, and it was nowhere near cold in the restaurant.
after a few seconds of frustration he got on his knee, brought out the little box, and took out the ring and asked me to marry him as he placed it on my finger.
Of course you know my answer - Yes!
Although, Ian being Ian, he had to take a few pictures with his cell phone so that they could be emailed to the mothers, and then we began the few calls we could make, since it was after 10pm and some people were probably already in bed.
And then the planning begun!!!

NS Journal
So it has been a while since I have checked in.
Mainly because I
got a 20% rent increase and have been busy
looking for a new
apartment and now moving :-) I finally lost a
few more pounds
although it happened when I wasn't able to be
going to the
gym regularly or eat my best. It was very
weird. But now to
push forward as I start a new chapter in life
in a new place.
02-28-07
A great way to end the month...hit the 20 lb
mark!!!! Going to go see Wicked on Friday, and
hit up Universal Studios. Great timing it will
be like a celebration!!!!
02-21-07
This past while has been a bit stressful. A
friend of mine got engaged, which is wonderful,
but it just put a damper on my relationship.
(They had only been going out for less than a
yr when her bf proposed on the radio on
Valentine's Day, where my boyfriend has had
almost 5 yrs and nothing yet. Although this has
put his ass in gear, I just wish he would have
gotten things together on his own and earlier.
The other issue is the friend's fiance he's on
the younger side.)
Other than that, gym has been a good release
when I get there, but there has been a bit of
emotional overeating. Blugh, I know its bad,
and I have made every effort to make sure there
arent things in the house that would tempt me
to overeat, but with a boyfriend that eats
whatever those things exist in the house.
Damned box of Girl Scout Thin Mints! I would be
much better if I had more frozen fruit I can at
least snack on that and not have it be too
horrible, but unfortunately emotional eating
for me means salty or sweet. Argh!!!!
Getting back on track. So close to my purple
bear!!!!
02-07-07
Today first official day back at the gym. Boy
was it tough, trainer kicked my butt. Plus a
wee bit of lightheadedness since I haven't done
much being sick, but we worked past it.
Ate pretty well on the cruise, not obscene
amounts of food like my bf and parents did. My
cold did come back while on the cruise, but it
is for the most part gone with the exception of
sniffles and coughing. Back on track for the
100 day challenge... need to get to ONDERLAND!!!
01-23-07
So my cold went away and I was doing fine. Then
on Sunday I decided to walk a little further on
the beach trail and doubled my walk from 5
miles to 10 miles. Two hours afterwards my cold
came back. I guess I am going to stick to my 5
miles for now. Darn cold. But I lost 2 more lbs
woohoo!!!
01-07-07
Of course my walk yesterday brought out the
cold I was getting
so now I am sluggish. Just trying to keep my
head from
exploding. Argh! I hate being sick.
01-06-07
So today was the first day back in a modified
version of
exercise. I didnt go to the gym but walked the
6 miles on the
beach trail this AM. Thank goodness the wind
and rained died
down. I may even have gotten a little bit of
sun too! Need to
even out the tan line before my cruise at the
end of the month.
01-01-07
The start of the year wasn't as good as I had
wanted. Fell down the steps, thus bruising my
tailbone and spine. This isn't gonna help with
the getting more workout time in. Hopefully it
will heal quick style. My trainer is gonna
think I did it on purpose...ha
12-26-06
Well I made it through the holidays, gained a
pound or two and then got rid of it. Now to
plow through and start losing more.
